Anyone else out there excited for August 11th? The day we can order from the NEW Stampin' Up! Fall/Winter Idea Book and Catalogue. Demonstrators were allowed to order some sneak peak items, including the new In Colors for 2008-2009. Yes, sadly my favourites: Purely Pomegrante and River Rock along with their 4 other siblings will no longer be avaliable with the release of the new catalogue. I have seen some samples of what other demonstrators have made with the new colours and I am impressed, they look a lot better than I thought. But my shipment should arrive this Tuesday, so I'll be making some new cards and stuff. So check back next week for my take on the new colours.

Well this weeks card, I know new job got in the way of stampin' again this week! But on to the card: I stumbled upon a blog by a lady named Kristina (KWernerDesignBlog) awhile ago and I've been dying or trying to take part of her Color Inspiration challenges. I have seen many great designs from others playing with the great colour combos she dreams up! So this card in my take on her colours: Pumpkin Pie, Certainly Celery, Soft Sky and Very Vanilla

Great combo by the way! Here is my invitation card with this colour scheme:

Here is the recipe to make this:
Stamps: So Many Scallops (SAB set, retired), Jumbo So Swirly Wheel, Sincere Salutations
Paper: Soft Sky, Certainly Celery, Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla
Ink: Versamark, Soft Sky, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Rhinestone Brads, Stampin' Dimensionals, Scalloped punch, circle punch

The strip of Certainly Celery is cut at 5.5" long and 1.5" wide. On the scalloped punched pumpkin pie I've done paper piercing.

Retiring List!

July 04, 2008 in

Time flies by when you have fun! And I'm not just talking about me being absent, yet again. But the retiring list from Stampin' Up! was released last month. Unfortunately my favourite Christmas stamp set, Snowflake Spot is going! The wait for the next catalogue seems so far away and I know many of us are impatient for it to get here already. Believe me, I'm hoarding the cash getting ready for the first big order of the new catalogue. Check out the link on the left that will take you to the list on Stampin' Up!'s website.
This birthday card was my attempt to try a border along the bottom. Unfortunately the brads a bit big for the small flower stamp I used. I'll know for next time I guess!
Stamps: All Holidays, Short and Sweet, A Little Bit of Happiness
Ink: Basic Black, Regal Rose
Paper: Regal Rose, Wild Wasabi, Apricot Appeal, Whisper White
Accessories: Soft Subtles Markers, Certainly Celery brads, Regal Rose Wide Grosgrain ribbon, sticky strip
Hello to you and to the month of June! Summer is just around the corner and this card makes me want to go apple picking (isn't that a fall activity though? I must have skipped the hot, sweaty summer). This card was included in the hostess thanks gift I gave as a door prize at my last workshop. But stupid me did not take a picture of the whole kit and kaboodle! It was arranged in a square tin that was decorated with rub-ons. In the tin I included this card, a covered notebook and a watermarked writing pad. Very cute and summery.

Stampin' Up! has extened the date for the Occassions Mini Catalogue. Instead of ending the end of May, you can now order product right though to June 30, 2008. The stamp set used for this card, Tart & Tangy is in the Occassions Mini on page 14. Also as a reminder all printed prices have been lowered by 7% in both the Spring/Summer collection and the Occassions Mini catalogues.

Stamps: Tart & Tangy, Short and Sweet

Ink: Basic Black, Always Artichoke, Rose Red

Paper: Whisper White, Summer Picnic Designer Series Paper, Pumpkin Pie, Always Artichoke

Accessories: Always Artichoke grosgrain ribbon, sticky strip, Stampin' Dimensionals, circle punches

I know! Here it is almost Father's Day and I'm posting another Mother's Day card. I have some catch up to do seeing that it's been so hectic here lately. Each day I strive to produce a new card or work on a scrapbook page, so far I have been successful only once. So here is to a new June, my birthday in 5 days and wishes to my mom to get better soon.

When I set out to use the paper in the hostess paper pack I had no idea that this was Apricot Appeal. I thought it was So Saffron. But to my delight this colour works really well with the Basic Grey and the beautiful Grey taffeta ribbon!

Stamps: All Holidays, Friendship blooms
Ink: Basic Grey
Paper: Apricot Appeal DSP paper from Hostess Party DSP Pack, Whisper White, Basic Grey
Accessories: Basic Grey taffeta ribbon, Sticky Strip, Stampin' Dimensionals, Apricot Appeal Stampin' Write Marker, Sage Shadow Stampin' Write Marker, Soft Subtles brads

This year I am very thankful to have my mom really close by. I've missed having her there for me and being there for her. Now I can be there if she needs me, especially now that she has so many things on her plate. I hope she enjoyed this card as much as I did making it! I ordered the All Holidays stamp set since it has a whole mix of greetings. I must say that my source of word sets is very limited.

For the card I started with Whisper White as the card base. The pretty-in-pink Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the Level 1 Hostess Set, Prints Pack. The flower is stamped on whisper white with Versamark and then embossed in black. I used my Wondercolour Wonder crayons to colour in the petals. The background behind the flowers was kinda messed from the black embossing powder, and I know it doesn't show up too well here, but it make it look better I used a sponge dauber to put Pretty In Pink pastel all over the white. The ribbon was added to make it look like a bouquet of flowers.

Stamps: All Holidays, Embrace Life
Ink: Versamark, Basic Black
Paper: Whisper White, Regal Rose, Pretty In Pink DSP
Accessories: Black Embossing powder, Always Artichoke Grosgrain Ribbon, Glue Dots

Wow, time sure flies by when you are having fun! May is Scrapbooking Month and I've been doing research on different types of albums that can be made. I am getting them ready for my 1st Workshop in Ontario on Sunday May 25th, check out the Workshop and Classes link on the left. I will post pictures of the albums after the workshop for those of you who cannot attend! Or if you'd like to host a workshop with some friends and family I can show you how to do them too or bring them to your workshop.

Some of the albums I plan on making include: Jewel Case Album, 12x12 Post Album, 6x6 Ringed Album, Accordian Envelop Album, Scrapbook in a Box (great idea from my upline, so cute!) and maybe a few more. Gotta love splitcoaststampers.com, wealth of information on there for scrapbooking. I'm going to have to try out some of those challenges related to scrapbooking when time permits.

I made this Welcome Baby card for a friend who just became a grandmother. It was such an easy and quick little card, especially since the stamp set I used, So Many Scallops from Sale-A-Bration, was die cut and I now have the scallop punch. Perfect! They work so well together.
Stamps: Short & Sweet, So Many Scallops
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Paper: Whisper White, Barely Banana, Pretty In Pink DSP from Level 1 Hostess Paper Pack
Accessories: Pretty In Pink and Barely Banana markers, Scallop Punch, Chocolate Chip Poly-Twill Ribbon, Sticky Strip
